Harambee

I picked up the paper today, and a look of horror and disbelief crossed my face. Six people were beheaded yesterday. I can't even give the details because as soon as picked it up and read the front page, I put it back down. I'm not sure if this is accurate, but I think these killings had to do with the Mungiki group. As soon as I read that, the first thing that popped into my mind was, "What is this country coming to?" I've had such a burden for the leadership of Kenya. I've been praying for them today. I pray that God will give them wisdom to lead this amazing country. Kenya. I've had a burden for the Mungiki group. You know, so many people want them killed, arrested...do you know what I want? I want these guys to get saved. To realize what they're doing. Sure, no one can erase the past, but at least there can be a promise for the future. You might read that and think, "Like THAT will ever happen!" You know what? It can. With God, all things are possible. Kenya...a nation that in my eyes, can be one of the greatest nations in the world. Perhaps through the physical eyes, this seems impossible. But today, I choose to look through God's eyes. Because He has designed the destiny of this nation. I will not be cut down but man's limitations, but instead rise up to God's expectations.I have claimed a chapter out of the Bible for Kenya. Isiah 60 I encourage you to read the whole chapter, it is amazing, but I want to share something I did with it. I took some parts of it and put it together, making a little "summary" I guess you could say.

"Arise my people! Let your light shine for all the nations to see. For the glory of the Lord is streaming from you. Darkness as black as night shall cover you, but the glory of the Lord will shine from you. All nations will come to see your light; mighty kings will come to see the glory of the Lord upon you. Your eyes will shine with joy, your hearts will thrill, for merchants from around the world will flow to you bringing you the wealth of many nations. I have reserved the ships of many lands, the very best, to bring the sons of Israel home again from far away, bringing their wealth with them. For the Holy One of Israel, known around the world, has glorified you in the eyes of all. Foreigners will come and build your cities. Presidents and kings will send you aid. For though I have destroyed you in my anger, I will have mery on you through my grace.Your gates will stay wide open around the clock to receive the wealth of many lands.I will exchange your brass for gold, your iron for silver, your wood for brass, your stones for iron. Peace and righteousness shall be your taskmasters! (this is my favorite verse) Violence will disappear out of your land-all war will end, your walls will be "Salvation" and your gates "Praise". Your sun will never set; the moon shall not go down-for the Lord will be your everlsasting light; your days of mourning all will end. Your people will posess the land forever, for I will plant them there with my own hands; this will bring Me glory. The smallest family shall multiply into a clan; the tiny group shall be a mighty nation. I, the Lord, will bring it all to pass when it is time..."

Wow...I don't think I have to explain much more. Kenya...let us live up to our motto. Harambee....now is the time for us to rise up, pull together as one, and defeat the enemy in our country. Come on Kenya...it is time for all of us to come togeter. Man,woman,boy,girl...it is time for us to take our place as a nation for God. It is time...
