The simplicity of blogging astounds me. I love it. Just writing what's in your heart, with no shame to what the world may think of you. Why are we so scared to say what we think? Why are we afraid to speak up for what we believe in? What is the point of believing, if you don't shout from the rooftops what you think is true? What stops us?

I've been going through a rough patch in my life, and it seemed lies of the past were coming back to haunt me. Fears of rejection, of imperfection, all crowding around me. Tears falling for things passed, things present, things I dreaded to come. Chained to a rock of hurt by a chain of lies the Devil whispered into my ear.

"Failure, failure," that's all she can hear in her mind.
She runs, she cries, she tries to hide, the voice never leaves her side.
"Oh failure, little loser, what have you ever done that's right?
You do everything wrong, you know it's true, why do you even fight?"
She sits in the darkness of tears, being led on by the Night,
Accepting the lies he's speaking over her, losing her will, her might.
"What's the point of going on, I've already failed"
She starts to believe what Night on her mind had nailed.
In the midst of confusion, darkness, and tears
From the dying embers of her spirit, she hears,
"My daughter, have you forgotten I'm here?
Your Light, your Love, Who banishes your fears?"
The girl, with anger in her heart,
Refuses to listen to the one Who gave her her start.
"I remember You, You're the one I don't get,
You give me challenges too hard, now all I have is a past to regret.
I failed in almost everything You gave me to do,
What's the point of going on? It's over, I'm through..."

"I can see Night has told you, 'you're a failure',
But that's through the world's eyes, to Me you're a learner.
I know you've tried a lot, and failed a lot and think you can't exceed,
But if you don't ever try and don't ever fail, how can you succeed?"
She stumbles in the darkness, finding herself surrounded by Night,
He taunts her, teases her, twists her mind, trying to win the fight.
"You mean to tell me you're looking for the path you forsook?
Come instead and be with me, see what I have, look!"
"Night!" she cries with a fire in her eyes, that comes from deep within,
"You first told me I'm a failure, now you love me, how do you expect to win?"
Tears streaming down her face, the girl runs, she knows not where
She tries to overcome the darkness she feels everywhere.
"Light," she groans, "I need You, I can't see!
I'm so sorry for all I've done, don't give up on me!
I'm never going to be worthy of the love you give
A perfect life I am never going to live
I've strayed again, like always, I've sinned,
But you hung a tree to bring me back again...
Light, You never fail, You're always there
When I'm following Your way, when I'm in a snare.
Rescue me, that's all I ask.
I beg You, bring me out of my past."
Surrendering all she's kept inside,
She gives herself up to the One Who promised to stay by her side.
He did not break His promise, He is Faithful and True,
But the girl drifted from the arms that she now flew to.
"I've been waiting, calling, watching you
I, your Light, will always be with you.
Rest in My arms, feel my embrace
Enjoy My love, My peace, My grace.
I'm not saying there won't be anymore trials,
But you've overcome these rough miles.
But don't worry, my daughter, because I see
Your path, your road, your destiny.
Learn to trust Me, now and forever,
Because I will never leave you, never..."
